Gedore ITX30 Torx 3/8'' Drive Socket Screwdriver Bit
The Torx socket system has been designed for use in conjunction with recessed head Torx screws. Its primary function is to fasten or loosen Torx screws in a variety of different applications and it has been made to last thanks to a specialised manufacturing technique employed by Gedore.
Gedore uses chrome vanadium steel in a hot forging process to make their sockets and Torx sockets. The process of hot forging offers a number of advantages over the more widely used process of cold forging. When the metal used to make a socket is heated while being forged, the natural grain of the metal is bent and this allows the grain to follow the shape of the forging die. The process results in an unbroken grain structure throughout the item giving it extreme strength and durability.
Chrome vanadium can only be used in the hot forging process, such as used to create a Torx socket, and as such competitors have to use inferior metals during the cold forging processes resulting in an inferior product. Here at Caulfield Industrial, we aim to supply our customers with the best products available that use superior manufacturing processes for added strength and reliability when needed.
