CITEC 350AF Imperial Steel Combination Wrench
The two types of wrench end on imperial combinations wrenches are a box wrench at the one end and an open end wrench on the opposite side. The box wrench end is a closed loop or socket that is designed to fit over a nut or bolt in order to fasten or loosen it as required. The open-ended wrench, as the name indicates, is open on the one end and has C shape. Both ends on one tool are generally designed to fit the same size bolt.
The box-end of the wrench is generally used to break open or loosen very tight bolts by being able to provide grip around all 360 degree of the surface. The open-end is then used to quickly loosen and remove the bolt. When tightening a bolt both ends serve the same function as when loosening with the open-end providing the initial quick tightening, and the closed-end used to tighten it securely.
At Caulfield Industrial, we stock a comprehensive selection of combination wrenches for our clients. What sets a combination wrench apart from conventional wrenches is that it incorporates two different types of wrenches on one tool.
