HALL NPT Spiral Flute Hand Taps 3/8 x 18

The extensive range of American National Pipe Taper ground thread taps is manufactured from quality high-speed steel to internationally recognised ISO standards, ensuring both high performance and long tool life.

Features:

This type of tool can be used to clean up threads and this process is referred to as chasing
The function of a tap is to cut a thread on the inside of a hole that allows you to then screw bolts or screws into the opening
In order for spiral flute hand taps to perform this function effectively, they have to be constructed from extremely strong and durable metals
When using a hand tap, it is extremely important to accurately align the tap with the hole which you intend to thread, as tapping a hole at an angle or out of alignment will further damage the thread
